Nadine yildiz
Nadine is currently completing her Psy.D degree with a focus on follow-up research to her Masters’ thesis, which looked at the benefits of two emotion-focussed classroom-based interventions for the amelioration of Math Anxiety. Her current doctoral work will explore the mechanisms through which the classroom-based interventions resulted in improvement in math performance and a reduction in Math Anxiety. Nadine began work with RCDMC in summer 2015 and has since completed two NSERC USRA awards, assisted with various research projects within the lab, as well as a Honours project which looked at the benefits of mathematical automaticity training for reducing math anxiety in elementary education undergraduates.
Nadine has also assisted with other projects such as the ability of children to understand time of day, the conceptual and procedural understanding of fractions in 8th graders, and research looking at children’s understanding of Math Word Problems.
