As part of the Peter Mansbridge’s 2007 Arctic voyage, two seabird colonies were visited in the Eastern Canadian Arctic.  The first was Coats Island where Peter visited with Dr. Tony Gaston to discuss how this southern colony of Thick-billed Murres will be impacted by abrupt climate change, and the warming Arctic conditions that have been observed over the last decade.  Later in the trip a second seabird colony in the High Arctic, Prince Leopold Island was also visited, and this northern colony reveals a very different story than its southern neighbour.
